In September 2005 Xerox announced the release of the Phaser 3500 series of monochrome laser printers as a replacement for the Phaser 3400 series. OEM-rated at 35 pages per minute (ppm), the 3500 printers have a duty cycle of 100,000 pages per month. These were significant improvements over the 3400 models having 17 ppm and a duty cycle of just 40,000 pages per month.
The supplies set includes all-in-one cartridges available in both 6,000 page low yield and 12,000 page high yield versions. Chips are required for correct printer operation.
Samsung® also offers its own version, ML-3560 that is based on the same print engine.
